Export Coordinator

Role Overview

Animal Breeding Europe Ltd is seeking an organised and proactive Export Coordinator to join our team. Working alongside the existing staff involved in Exports, this role plays a key part in the day-to-day coordination of international Semen and Embryo exports, ensuring compliance with export regulations while delivering excellent service to our clients.

You will act as the main point of contact for export enquiries, help with sourcing of animals to meet the health requirements, and manage documentation and logistics for exports of semen and embryos.

A strong interest in, or knowledge of, the sheep industry and pedigree livestock would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Export Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for international export enquiries
  • Provide timely and professional communication to clients, keeping them informed of progress throughout the export process
  • Coordinate sourcing of suitable rams and ewes in collaboration with UK farmers
  • Maintain accurate records of animals on site for export
  • Coordinate veterinary testing and health requirements in line with export regulations
  • Liaise with Official Veterinarians to arrange and complete export certification
  • Ensure all movement licences, MV documents, and export paperwork are accurate and up to date
  • Ensure semen and embryos are correctly batched, labelled, and stored prior to export
  • Liaise with couriers and agents to obtain quotes and coordinate safe transport of livestock and genetic material
  • Assist with general administrative duties related to export operations

 

Marketing (Development Opportunity)

  • Support or manage day-to-day updates of AB Europe’s domestic and export websites
  • Contribute to the management of social media and marketing activity for sheep and cattle

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Confident working both independently and as part of a small team
  • Good interpersonal skills when dealing with clients, farmers, vets, and colleagues
  • Basic IT skills and confidence using computer applications
  • Livestock handling experience desirable

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in agriculture, livestock, exports, or animal-related industries is desirable
  • A qualification in agriculture or animal science is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong customer service skills and administrative competence are required
  • Full, clean UK driving licence essential

Hours of Work

This role is available on a part-time basis.

  • Full-time hours: 20-25 hours per week
  • Office hours:
    • Monday–Thursday: 8:30am–5:00pm
    • Friday: 8:30am–4:00pm

The role is seasonal, and additional hours may be required during peak periods. Time off in lieu or overtime payment will be provided in line with contractual terms.

Travel

Occasional off-site work may be required to assist on farm. Accommodation and reasonable expenses will be covered in line with company policy.
